Drinks with Prosecco

You may be wondering what drinks are made with prosecco? There’s a few that quickly come to mind: Aperol spritz or mimosa are very common, but what if you’re looking for something a little different? I offer you the Strawberry Vodka Prosecco cocktail.

Keep reading to learn how to make this vodka prosecco cocktail for your next party.

Drinks Made with Prosecco and Vodka Can Be Delicious

I first had this drink at a local restaurant and loved it. I usually order prosecco when I go there, but one day, I was looking for something a little different. I saw this on the menu, and I fell in love right there.

I went home and got to work replicating this drink because I knew that I would be offering it at my next dinner party. Why? It’s easy to make and a show stopper.

What are the Ingredients to Strawberry Vodka Prosecco Cocktail?

  • Prosecco
  • Your favorite vodka
  • Frozen strawberries, thawed

Yup, that’s it!

I suggest making the strawberry puree ahead of time if you plan on offering it at a party. Once you have it made, you can leave it in the fridge overnight. I don’t use fresh strawberries because I want to have that thawed strawberry syrup to mix into the puree.

I didn’t want to add any sugar so using frozen strawberries ensured that they were at peak flavor when picked. Also, it’s cheaper than fresh strawberries, too.

As for the prosecco and vodka, select brands that you like.

How to make Strawberry Vodka Prosecco Cocktail

You will need for each serving:

-2 ounces Vodka

-1 tablespoon strawberry puree

-prosecco to fill the glass

First, you want to plan ahead and thaw your frozen strawberries overnight. I left about a cup in the fridge for the night, but if you’re serving many people, you should thaw what you think you will need.

Next, I poured the thawed strawberries and the juice into a container that would be easy to use with my emulsion blender. Take the time to blend everything together until it’s smooth.

When ready to make the cocktail, grab the strawberry puree, vodka, ice and a shaker. Mix everything together to chill and blend the ingredients together.

Pour into your glass, then fill to the top with prosecco.

If you want to add a garnish, you can add a slice of fresh strawberry.

Common Questions about This Cocktail

Do you need to use frozen strawberries?

The simple answer is no. You can use fresh, but I do think you will need to add water and sugar to give your puree a sweeter and more loose consistency.

Can I use champagne instead of prosecco?

I wouldn’t. For two reasons: prosecco is lighter and fruitier, and, the second reason is that it’s cheaper! With that said, don’t let it hold you back. If you prefer champagne, try it out! Want to learn the difference between champagne and prosecco? Food and Wine has a nice post about it.

Does the brand of vodka matter?
I believe there is a difference in flavor depending on the quality of your vodka. If you’re unsure of what to choose, ask your local liquor store what they suggest. You can add that you’re using it for a cocktail and not sipping it. They will normally ask about what you want to spend as well. This will dictate what they offer you.

Can you use other fruit?
I haven’t but it would be fun to try! Maybe canned pineapple pureed! Prosecco and vodka always go well with fruit.

Prosecco is a beautiful and celebratory drink. Let me know if you tried the strawberry vodka prosecco cocktail or some variation.
