1. Mind Pump: Raw Fitness Truth
Mind Pump Media is a popular fitness podcast hosted by Sal Di Stefano, Adam Schafer, and Justin Andrews. I spent 4 months only listening to them because they are a wealth of information. You will feel like you know them because they talk about everyday things regarding life and family before getting into sharing their knowledge.
They are experts who provide practical advice on strength training, nutrition, and mindset. Plus, they debunk fitness myths, share workout tips, and discuss the latest scientific research. Their approach is for the everyday person. They believe in moderation and progress.
I also bought 5 of their programs with MAPS 15 and MAPS Anabolic being my favorite. Below is a screenshot of what the program will look like on your phone.
2. The Dr. Gabrielle Lyon Show
Dr. Gabrielle Lyon is a renowned functional medicine physician and wellness expert. She would be my dream doctor! She is beyond intelligent and her message is easy to understand.
Her podcast offers a holistic approach to health and wellness, covering topics like nutrition, hormone health, and stress management. She is an advocate for women getting comfortable in the gym with weights.
Listening to her inspired me to pump heavy weight and protect my bone density! You should listen to her if you need to get motivated to take the next steps in your health journey; she will educate you on what you need to do to grow old and still be healthy.
3. Huberman Lab Podcast
Hosted by Dr. Andrew Huberman, a neuroscientist at Stanford University, his podcast teaches about the science behind human performance, consciousness, and health. Dr. Huberman often invites specialists in their fields to educate his listeners.
You will love how he goes in-depth on topics while also not feeding into fear mongering that can sometimes go along with health topics. His approach is to educate and use data to support his topic. If you want to learn a lot about something, search his content and get listening!
4. Model Health Show
Shauna Stevenson was the first podcast I started listening to when I decided I wanted to get healthier. He is an advocate for sleep and healthy, clean eating. His podcast is easy to comprehend because he does a great job breaking down information that the everyday person can understand. You will get so much out of what he says, and it will help you make better decisions in your everyday life.
If you enjoy his podcast, you may want to check out his book: Eat Smarter: Use the Power of Food to Reboot Your Metabolism, Upgrade Your Brain, and Transform Your Life. I loved it.
5. Better! by Dr. Stephanie Estima
Better! by Dr. Stephanie Estima is a female centered podcast. She is a board-certified physician who shares practical advice on health, wellness, and longevity. She covers a wide range of topics, from nutrition and fitness to sleep and stress management.
Her focus on female hormones gave me insight into what was going on in my body. I have been sharing her podcast with every peri-menopausal woman I know because she helped me better understand that season of life.
If you are interested in learning more about the woman’s “journey” as we adjust to the fluctuations of our hormones, she provides a plethora of information to help you.
Podcasts Value
As busy moms, it can be hard to find the time to educate ourselves on our health. What women were taught years ago has been debunked, so it’s very important that you take the steps to learn what new information is out there.
We are very fortunate to live in a time when information is at our fingertips. Podcasts are invaluable because of this; they teach us so much. If you’re looking to improve your health and fitness, these podcasts are perfect for educating you on what you need to do to become a healthier you!
When adding these to your walks, you are inspiring yourself to keep moving!
Don’t want to listen to podcasts while walking? That’s ok. You are not limited to when you can listen. Throw in some earbuds while cleaning around the house, or play them in your car on your way to work.
The most important factor is that you learn and get inspired to move and incorporate healthy habits into your life.
