Check out these Easter dessert ideas for you to try.
Whether you’ve been assigned dessert for your family’s Easter meal, or you’re in charge of the whole dang thing, here are some ideas to make Easter dessert the easiest part of the entire meal.

Spring has sprung now that it’s Easter time! The only way to celebrate is with delicious food. While dinner is the meal of the day, we all know that everyone really looks forward to dessert! The problem is that you spend so much time making that fine dinner that you’re tired. Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered.
Most of the ideas here will be easy to make ahead which is essential to take the stress out of planning and hosting. Some will require no baking whatsoever. Others will be minimal in what you have to do. Now, that’s a win win for everyone.
Easter Desserts Light Enough For Everyone
It’s spring, so it’s a perfect time to incorporate fresh fruit into your dessert menu! Many people don’t want the heavy desserts that we enjoy throughout the winter months.
Here are a few ideas that will be quick and delicious, and the best part is that they’re more about assembling a few ingredients than spending hours baking.
Fresh Fruit Desserts
Chocolate covered strawberries
Use melting chocolate like the one found here. This recipe is easy to make ahead.
First, clean your strawberries and let them dry.
While they’re drying, melt your chocolate in a microwavable bowl. Use 30 section increments and stir in between. Do this until it’s full melted.
Set up a baking sheet with wax paper and start dipping your strawberries! That’s it!
You can get creative and take a page from Edible Arrangements and cover other fruit like apples and pineapple, too. It’s simple and easy to make ahead. Plus, your guests will love to eat it.

Decorate the chocolate covered strawberries however you want!
Strawberry Shortcake
For this recipe, you need strawberries, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and either Angel Food Cake or sponge cake dessert shells that are premade, and you can buy at the grocery store.
First, clean and slice your strawberries.
Then, using your mixer, add heavy cream and a dash of vanilla and turn it on high. Let it beat the the cream until it turns into whipped cream.
Create an assembly station: Set up a tray with a bowl of strawberries, a bowl of fresh whipped cream, and the cakes (either sliced or just the cups). Allow people to assemble themselves.
If your family is anything like mine, grab a lot of strawberries! Whenever I make this for my son or daughter’s birthday party, this dessert is the first to go!
Easter Dessert Suggestions for the Creative Mind
Dessert Stations
With Easter being a kid friendly holiday, having a dessert station brings a little unique and entertaining concept to dessert hour. The only dessert station worth talking about is an ice cream station.
Select up to five ice cream flavors and tale them out about 15 minutes before you plan on serving everyone.
Also, be sure to grab all of the ice cream toppings that people like. Things like sprinkles, whipped cream, fudge, Oreo crumbles are a great start. But you can get creative!
Dessert Ideas Simple Preparation
Cookie Platters
There is not a party food that goes faster than a cookie platter. The level of how complicated this can be depends on you. You can buy a variety of cookies. My family always chooses Tate’s chocolate chip cookies, Black and White cookies, and sugar cookies. These are the most kid-friendly options.
If you’re opposed to buying store bought, you can also bake your favorite cookies. You don’t have to even do this the day of Easter. The great thing about cookies is that most recipes can be made ahead of time and frozen until the day of the event.
Select three to five options to bake or buy them ahead of time. Then, the day of the event, lay them out on a tray for everyone to grab.
It’s simple but always goes at a party.
Easter Dessert Trifles
Trifles are show stoppers and look beautiful on any dessert table. Want one that indulges the sweet tooth of a chocolate lover?
Death by Chocolate- see the image at the top of this post.
If ever there was a way to go, Death by Chocolate would be it.
I don’t know who the original creator of this recipe is, but a simple search will show you many ways to do it.
The recipe my family follows can be found here.
What makes this recipe so great is that it’s easy.
You make 1 boxed brownie of your choice.
Make chocolate pudding (2 boxes or the family size)
Grab two containers of Cool Whip and one bag of Heath bits (or you can crush up another toffee treat or Reeses Pieces).
In a trifle bowl (or little trifle looking cups if you want to make individual servings), layer the four items listed above.
Break up your brownies into small pieces and put a layer on the bottom, then, add the pudding spread in between the brownie bits and lay on top. Next, layer the Cool Whip. Your fourth layer is the Heath bits sprinkled over the Cool Whip. Repeat until you’ve filled your trifle. This usually is two layers.
Put it into the refrigerator until you’re ready to serve.
Parfait

Trifle inspired, parfaits are little single servings that everyone will love. I bought the cups above at the Dollar Tree, but you can find something similar here.
The best part is that you can get creative with these.
If you don’t like to actually bake, but you want something that’s visually appealing, use store bought products and simple assemble! That makes this sweet treat so simple and no one will know that all you did is put some pre-packaged items together.
If you like the idea of little parfaits but want to make it yourself, go ahead! Making your own cake and pudding, but it’s not necessary.

Easter Dessert Chocolate Inspired
Chocolate Covered Cheesecake Pops
There is nothing better than cheesecake covered in chocolate!
You can make these ahead of time, and wow everyone at Easter with these.

Nothing to bake, just assemble!

These are a hit when I make them!
Here’s what to do:
Either buy the small cheesecake bites or cut your cheesecake into bite sized pieces. Then, put a popsicle stick into the base. Place this in the freezer for about a half hour (until you feel like the stick is secure).
Before removing them from the freezer, set up your toppings and melt your chocolate. I used the Ghirardelli chocolate because it’s so easy to melt in the microwave. Once everything is ready, take out cheesecake pops.
Dip into chocolate and place on wax paper lined bake sheet. Add any toppings before it hardens (Sprinkles, mini M&Ms, sprinkles, etc.).
Put the tray in the refrigerator to harden.
Simple Dessert Ideas
The best desserts are the easy ones! Especially when you’re already doing so much for a holiday.
Unless you love to bake, you really don’t need to make everything from scratch. Everyone will love all of these options regardless of whether you baked everything yourself or you assembled from store-bought items!
Plus, almost all of them can be made ahead of time, so that you can enjoy your Easter with your family!
Isn’t that what Easter is all about? Getting together with loved ones and celebrating the holiday.
Happy Easter from my family to yours! I hope you loved some of the ideas in this post. If you make any, please take a picture and share it with me. I’d love to see them!
