Youtube workouts for beginners

With a busy work schedule, it can be difficult to make it to the gym, but it’s too important to keep up with working out to let it go. Fortunately, you don’t have to sacrifice your workout when you can’t make it to the gym. The internet gods have given us gold with YouTube. Now, YouTube workout video channels are here to rescue us! The fact that I don’t have to leave my house to get a sweat on is a life and time saver!

In this post, you will learn about YouTube channels that offer YouTube workout videos.

How to Workout at home

YouTube is a treasure trove of fitness content. When I’m not feeling like being around people (which is often) or driving to the gym (which is often, too), I love YouTube for what it offers.

The best part is that all you need is your internet and access to YouTube. If you have weights, you can search videos with weights, if you don't, it doesn’t hold you back.

Being able to workout at home lowers the barrier to getting fit. That’s so helpful when you think about all of the other things that take up your day.

Here are some YouTube workout channels that I use to keep myself moving along on my fitness journey.

At Home Yoga Workout

Boho Beautiful

Boho Beautiful is known for yoga, pilates, and meditation.

The couple behind Boho Beautiful are relationship goals! They’ve traveled over the world and filmed amazing workout videos that set the mood for relaxation and perspiration! Juliana’s voice is calming and her instructions clear.

Both Mark and Juliana teach their community yoga, pilates, and meditation classes that are perfect for beginners and advanced yogis. I have been suggesting Boho Beautiful to my students for years.

When you fall in love with them, you can download their app and learn more about them on their website.

This channel is perfect for those seeking a more relaxed and spiritual workout experience.

Want YouTube workout videos with weights?

Caroline Girvan

Caroline is known for her intense workouts.

Her main focus is incorporating weights into your exercise at home. With tabata style increments, you will find yourself doing a movement for a certain time before rest (typically 40 seconds on/ 20 seconds off).

What I really like about her workout is that you can pace yourself; moving slowly if you’re new or lowering the weight volume. You can adjust what you see on screen to fit your needs.  There are certain moves that I don’t use weights at all, and I still see my muscles bulge when I’m done!

Caroline Girvan offers a variety of workouts, from intense HIIT sessions to strength training routines. She also has plenty of beginner-friendly options. You can also find her at her website where she offers her app, CGX.

Caroline is perfect for those who love a challenge and want to see quick results.

You will love her pacing. Each video I’ve done was challenging but doable. The routines are easy to follow and can be modified to suit any fitness level.

Maddie has also expanded to her own website and an app that you can get for a subscription.

Her videos are perfect for those who love to dance and have a lot of energy that they want to burn off.

Youtube for Exercise

Juliette Wooten

Juliette is known for Strength Training Tabata Style.

In some of the videos, it looks like she is filming in a gym somewhere, bringing her sign up class to the masses via YouTube.

She is fast moving to get the heart pumping. I like her workouts because I am terrible at cardio, and her workouts put me in the cardio zone!

She does incorporate weights with her moves, but you can start with no weights and still benefit from her workouts. She often provides modifications for those who are new to strength training.

Juliette’s channel is perfect for those who want to build muscle and get the heart racing, and you can find it here.

Does at Home Workouts Work?

The answer is yes! If you are willing to commit to working out, you are going to see results. What I suggest is not to go full ham when you first start.

You don’t want to burn yourself out or be in so much pain that you can’t keep to a schedule.

I love working out at home because I can grow at my own pace without worrying about others judging whether or not I can keep up just as much as I love that I don’t have to drive!

At home Workout Routine for Beginners Tips

  • Listen to your body: Don't push yourself too hard, especially when you're starting out. Depending on where you are in your fitness journey, your body may or may not be able to go full ham on your next workout.

  • While it’s tempting to push yourself because you’ve got goals, you want to be able to come back the next day!

If you push yourself too far, this can cause too much soreness that thwarts your efforts to get healthy.

  • Stay hydrated: Keep water nearby and drink plenty of it before, during, and after your workout. It helps with soreness. If you’ve really broken a sweat, try adding electrolytes to your drink. My husband and I are obsessed with LMNT.

  • Fuel your body: Eat a healthy diet of increased protein to support your fitness goals. Protein does not have to be expensive. Eggs and cottage cheese are great sources of  inexpensive protein.

Seriously, with these YouTube channels and a little bit of dedication, you can achieve your fitness goals from the comfort of your own home.
